“The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion.  It should transcend any personal god and avoid dogma and theology.  Covering both the natural and the spiritual, it should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things natural and spiritual as a meaningful unity.  Buddhism answers this description.  If there were any religion that could cope with modern scientific needs it would be Buddhism.”

UPCOMING EVENTS

Half Day Meditation Retreat

Saturday, August 16, 2014; 8:30 AM -12 PM

Bhantesathi

Please join us for our next half day meditation retreat. There will be Dhamma talks led by guest speaker Bhante Sathi. Bhante Sathi has a particular interest in what is common to all traditions and all schools of Buddhism, particularly regarding the practice of meditation. Since establishing himself in Minnesota, Bhante dreamed of opening a meditation center where people of all traditions could come together and practice Dhamma and meditation. With this long-term goal in mind, he established The Triple Gem of the North, located in the Twin Cities.  There will be walking and sitting meditation, tea breaks, yoga and a vegetarian/vegan lunch. Noble silence will be observed throughout the morning. There is a minimum suggested donation of $35 to help meet the costs of the center. All are welcome.
